Transforming marine waste
THE MACHINE ROOM
The CORAIL° Lab is where the collected marine waste is sorted, stored and crushed to then be used in the manufacture of our products. We have invested in used machines and shredders with high quality standards to ensure the comfort of workers: soundproofing systems, dust silos and anti-heat motors.
STARTED FROM THE BOTTLE
The first types of waste that we transformed in the CORAIL° Lab were plastic bottles into PET. These are versatile materials that we grind for two purposes: the transparent bottles are transformed into fabrics in France, and the colored bottles with caps and labels are injected into our outsoles, in Portugal.
A NEW LIFE FOR THE GHOST NETS
After months of testing, we are now able to shred one of the biggest wastes in the oceans: abandoned fishing nets found on the ocean floor. Mixed with crushed PET bottles, they make up our SEADUST.
AND AFTER ?
After PET bottles in 2019 and fishing nets in 2022, we are working on our next marine waste that we will be able to transform and inject into our products. We carry out tests every day on different marine pollution collected by our team. As long as there is marine litter, we will try to transform it in our CORAIL° Lab.
